about the artist
At 15, my parents gave me a small wooden drawing table. A neighbor gave me pencils and a John Gnagy Learn to Draw set. Since then, I have never stopped making art. I took sculpture classes at Pratt Institute and eventually graduated from the Philadelphia College of the Arts, studying pottery design, painting, drawing, sculpture, jewelry design, film, and glassblowing. I got involved with student demonstrations against the war in Vietnam. Looking for a way to give artists a voice in opposing the war, I curated a show of works by fifty established artists representing every artistic medium, which was installed in The Philadelphia Museum of Art’s main galleries. I moved to Los Angeles, eventually becoming an art director designing record album covers. The Foster White Gallery in Seattle represented my works on paper. I held a position at Universal Pictures, producing live-action films, animated series, and an original Broadway musical which earned two Tony nominations, including one for best new musical. I have journeyed full circle and now devote all of my time to making art.
